Greetings from the Dean
Welcome to the web page of the School of Economics and Business of the University of Zaragoza.
On behalf of all the members of the School of Economics and Business and on my own behalf, I welcome you to our website, its external projection channel. It offers relevant information about the centre to all its stakeholders. Therefore, additionally to the essential academic information for those of us who are part of this community or School (teaching staff, students, and administrative and service staff), the various activities organised are promoted and a selection of current issues and economic news are highlighted.
The current School, as the heir of two centres with a long tradition and a reference point in the Spanish university scene, is a centre of quality higher education, modern, innovative, as well as pioneering in many areas. It is the first University School in Aragon to teach a university degree in English. With our approximately 4,400 students enrolled, staffed by more than 300 teachers and 60 administrative and service personnel, we are one of the largest and most dynamic Schools of the University of Zaragoza. Likewise, every year we are attract many foreign students, researchers and professors, not only from the European Union. Moreover, many of our students and teachers participate in national and international mobility programmes.
We have two buildings, one located on the Gran Vía, next to the “Paraninfo de la Universidad de Zaragoza”, and the other integrated in the Rio Ebro Campus. Both have high quality services, such as libraries and study rooms. At undergraduate level, there are "Business Administration and Management", "Economics", "Finance and Accounting" and "Marketing and Market Research" as well as the joint programme "Law-Business Administration and Management". There are also six official master's degrees and fourteen long-life learning programs, along with various complementary academic activities.
Given the nature of economic and business studies, we are linked to our environment and, therefore, 13 business and institutional chairs are coordinated by professors of the School of Economics and Business, carrying out relevant activities for our students and for society. We also have agreements with various institutions, such as the “Colegio de Economistas”, to carry out various activities, for example the Economics Olympiad, or to integrate our graduates.
Research is another of the is another strength of the School, especially considered in some areas at international and, of course, with a special recognition of some research areas both nationally and internationally. The 23 accredited research groups carry out a great deal of work in different areas, with relevant professors of international prestige in various disciplines.
There are also various cultural, sports, social and solidarity activities are carried out with the support of teachers, students and administrative and service staff.
I invite all those interested to consult and use the information on the website, and to help us improve it with suggestions. I also hope that this information will enable you either to do a program with us or to attend some of the interesting activities.
